North American Bear Center

View from deck
This is the view from the covered observation deck overlooking the bear enclosure.
Bear Scale
The bears step on the scale to get tasty treats, they are weighed each week to ensure they are maintaining a proper weight.
Rock Den
The man-made rock den is visible from the Bear Center observation areas.
Pond
This is a highlight of the bear enclosure, both for visitors and the bears alike! This is where they play and cool off on hot summer days.
Pat Tree
This is the Pat Tree where treats are hung high and visitors can watch bears climb for food; imitating what bears might do in the wild to eat catkins or buds from trees.
Mound area
An area where the bears play and forage, seen from the mound cam.
Holly's 2020/21 Den
Tasha dug this den in 2018/2019 and hibernated there. In 2020 she expanded the den but Holly took it over and denned there in 2020/2021.
Chalet Den
Ted's Chalet den is the largest of the individual bear enclosures.
Cabin Den
The Cabin den is one of the individual enclosures for the bears.
Haven Den
The Haven den is adjacent to the Chalet den and is used by Tasha and Holly.
White Pine Cub Tree
The big white pine tree, appropriately named the "Cub Tree" is a favorite place for the young and/or agile bears to climb. The rough bark makes it easy to climb and the strong branches provide a secure place to snooze.
Dug Den
This is a den Holly dug in 2014, Tasha used it in 2017/18 as well.
Honey Tree
This is the Honey Tree where you can see Lucky preparing to climb to the tray feeder many of the visiting wildlife feed from.
